Dear curvy girls,
It’s out there ! The craving . The foods that scream size 9 ‘s and 11’s . The one you regret eating as soon as it’s devoured. The feeling that hits home & attacks you in everlasting ways. Can’t help it, just cry it out. Real solution ? Stop eating junk food. Hit the gym. Being mentally healthy. These things are easier said than done but they can be done. Don’t be the last one to get on this health wave. All this rambling .. may I just cut to the chase ? I’m passionate about two things in this very planet. These are health & cooking . These two things , if imbalanced, are a mental disaster. Excuse me while I burn off an hour on the elliptical then go home & devour an apple pie subsequent to a bake session. We ladies don’t lose weight like men do , who have naturally higher metabolism. In times like these we need to watch what we eat.
“Eat your vegetables, don’t eat too fast, is that your only cup of water today ?” The words of any caring mother can also be easily translated into a drone. As a curvy girl , I understand how hard it is. The life of not fitting into the same pair of jeans each year, comparing yourself to skinny girls, and declining beach invites which lead to several mental breakdowns. You hear people say “Pft , you’re not fat..”, but turn the TV on to see girls that can slide into your denim capris in threesomes. IT’S NOT EASY FOR US. It’s not easy, but we’re not entitled to constantly complain.
What I’m getting at here is that we need to eat healthy. In my family my father’s side is thick and pretty damn proud of themselves . My mother’s side of the family .. well let’s just say my uncle’s nickname is Flaco and my aunt’s is Flaca .. and my mom has the cellulite-less legs of a model . This may be a bummer , but someone once said, “Your past doesn’t equal, nor does it dictate, your future.” Being plump means keeping a balanced diet & exercise is key. Recently I’ve been keeping an assortment of health foods.
My mother has supported this and squeezed any new product in the fridge or cabinets. Some of these include Soy Nuts, frozen broccoli, green tea, Special K, Honey Bunches of Oats, green tea, apples, whole wheat bread, tuna, and pita chips and Chobani. These can be you’re best pal all through your three meals of the day. Get rid of the empty calories in your life , but know you can treat yourself to a piece of pie once in a while. A quick snack I recommend are soy nuts for it has less fat than the peanut but far more protein.
Sure, these all add up to a healthy diet. But what beats cravings the most, & what my mom has beat into my brain into drinking as a habit is water. Yeap , you heard right here, Hydrogen Dioxide. As simple as it is , always zero calories , tasteless , but necessary. Oh , you’re a fat girl that likes cake ? Drink off that craving with a bottle of Poland Spring , Dasani - heck, even tap water! They say, “8 glasses a day keeps the fat away.” Perhaps that may not be the most reliable statement, but it sure helps the weight loss process. Water helps beat an appetite and even strengthens your metabolism. Yes ladies, water is the magic potion in weight loss, oh & staying away from the dessert table helps.. Kim Cattrall from Sex & the City shares,“I own a pair of jeans that fit great and are most comfortable when my weight is just right. When I’m feeling heavy, or I’ve been overindulging, I’ll try on those jeans. If I have to lie down on my back to get the zipper up, I know it’s time to cut back on desserts and bread and step up the cardio.” Want to get into that cute bikini this coming Summer , then stack up on that water! Drink between meals , during them , as well . Soda as a drinking option is a thing of the past . Don’t haunt your body with liquids packed with glucose. Love and respect your body.
